WHAT YOU BRING:
- Secondary school leaving certificate, entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife), or general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur)

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Manufacturing of flat (plano) and spherical optical components made of glass, ceramics, sapphire, and other crystals
- Lapping and grinding on single- and double-sided processing machines
- Polishing—by machine and by hand—with accuracy down to a few nanometers
- Verifying quality parameters using high-precision metrology and laboratory equipment
- Care and maintenance of measuring and test equipment, machines, and their tools
